Grimalda

One of the undoubtedly most beautiful viewpoints in central Istria is situated on a hilltop at 447 meters above sea level. First mentioned in 1202, life flourished here much earlier, on the prehistoric hillfort, where today's settlement developed. As a border place, Grimalda suffered several times in conflicts between Austria and Venice in the 16th and 17th centuries. Dominating the village is the 13th-century church of St. George, surrounded by a cemetery. Thanks to favorable climatic conditions, the slopes around Grimalda are suitable for growing vineyards and olive trees, and many people in this area are known as excellent winemakers and olive growers.

In April, the meeting of young traditional music players called "Supci pud mavricun" takes place here.
