Lupoglav – Planik

From Lupoglav we take the local road to Brest pod Učkon, pass through the hamlet of Mariškići and we came to the local cemetery. From the western entrance to the cemetery, an old wagon road leads up the hill, and after 500 m we reach the remains of the Mahrenfels fort, formerly Lupoglav. We will notice how in some places the road is literally carved into the living rock, and in some places we also recognize properly spaced depressions, created by the wheels of carts. The path continues uphill and emerges on the plateau. We are located within the Učka Nature Park, where the network of hiking trails can take us to many different places: to Semić, to Veliki and Mali Planik, to Korita, to Brest pod Učkon, to Vojak - the highest peak in Učka, etc.
